Would you like to spend a summer season living and working on a tiny, beautiful island? Troytown Farm is a small family business, with a campsite, self-catering lets and a dairy farm, making and selling our famously excellent ice cream.

We have summer work every year for cleaners, ice cream makers and people to work in our farm shop - (or a combination of these), working in a small and friendly team, in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. Seasonal staff are needed between Easter and October half-term (or for part of the season). This may suit students on a gap year or with a long summer break, people who are doing a winter ski season or people wishing to take a break from their normal routine and try something new.

If you are a positive, enthusiastic person, who would like an island adventure, check back here in the winter months for further details on how to apply for the next summer season.

Campsite Caretaker/Cleaners Required

We have a seasonal position (April to October) for two enthusiastic, friendly people to join our brilliant team of permanent and seasonal staff.

The main responsibilities for this role are:

  • To keep the campsite facilities clean and lovely for our campers
  • Helping to put up and kit out our rented bell tents
  • Change-overs in the bell tents and self-catering lets
  • Helping with handling luggage for our arriving and departing visitors
  • Filling in where needed in our farm shop - serving ice creams
  • Assisting in the dairy with producing and packaging our ice cream and other products.

We are looking for people who would take pride in doing a great job, who would enjoy talking to our visitors, making sure that any problems are reported to us (and ideally helping to solve them). We are looking for flexible and adventurous people who will relish getting involved with all the day-to-day challenges of working on a small farm on a small island, such as helping with the hay harvest, moving cows or making deliveries.

A driving license would be a bonus, as would some experience of either shop/kitchen work or practical/maintenance skills, but none of these are essential.

Comfortable, private, self-contained accommodation is provided, which would best suit a couple or similar (open plan living space/one double bed). For the right people, this could be an ongoing seasonal role (perhaps combined with other winter seasonal work in Scilly or elsewhere).
