For a carefree camping holiday, Troytown Farm has a few canvas bell tents for hire. The tents are provided pre-erected and fully equipped for up to 4 people.

With bell tent rental, you can travel light and be relaxing in your tent enjoying the view with a cuppa, within minutes of arriving on the Island.

On the most south-westerly campsite in Britain, the bell tents offer spectacular panoramic views across the wild Western rocks, Bishop Rock lighthouse and the uninhabited island of Annet. Treat your senses to some amazing sunsets and night skies, all set to the soundtrack of the sea.

What isn't included?

  • Bedding and towels are not included - please bring a sheet for the mattresses, sleeping bags and pillows.
  • Torches. It is worth bringing your own as there are no streetlights here.
  • Shower tokens (70p each)
  • Charcoal for your BBQ - you can get some from the farm shop

Four brick walls, a slate roof, insulation, double glazing etc... i.e. you are still camping!

If you are not keen on the elements then perhaps self-catering is more your style.

Short break bookings are a minimum of 3 nights and are available during April, May and September. It is possible to bring an extra person in your own tent which is charged at our camping rates.
We take bookings for bell tents up to one year in advance of the departure date and for school holiday times we advise booking as early as possible. Changeover days do vary but are normally Saturday, Friday or Thursday. Rates include return transport of luggage from the quay, camping gas, pre-erected tent hire and hire of all camping equipment as specified.
A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required for the rental of Bell Tents. Holidays cancelled less than 8 weeks before arrival date will be liable for full payment. If possible we will re-let, in which case we will retain the deposit as cancellation charge but will refund any balance paid.

The Tents

Please note that these tents have one 4m diameter round living area. The height at the peak is 2.5m. The tents are very spacious for a couple / two singles, beds for four people cover just over half of the floor space.

The tents are on the campsite where we also offer pitches, so at busier times (school holidays) there will be other tents near to your bell tent. Outside of the holidays the campsite is quieter.

For groups of 5 people it is possible for you to bring your own small tent to pitch alongside the bell tent. You can hire an extra bed and chair from us for a 5th person, subject to availability. For larger groups we may be able to offer two bell tents. Sorry - We do not allow dogs in the bell tents.
